Basilica of St. Stephen

The work involved the complete restoration of the interior and part of the exterior of the church, the sacristy and some adjoining spaces.

After a careful analysis of the existing situation, a punctual restoration project was carried out, elaborating the most appropriate interventions, shared with the Monumental Heritage Superintendence. In addition to the masonry part, the electrical and heating technological systems were completely rebuilt, with particular regard to the lighting system that was updated and adapted to the restoration work carried out.

The restoration led to the discovery of numerous portions of frescoed walls, enhanced by suitable intervention solutions.

Various structural reinforcement work of a conservative nature was also done, particularly on the masonry and interior floors. The study also followed the management of financial contributions and funding received from the Cariverona Foundation, the Italian Episcopal Conference (CEI) and the Ministry, scheduling the work over several years.
